The Perfect Pocket Monster Legends: Z-A Mega Evolution According to Your Astrological Sign
This comeback of Mega Evolutions in Pokémon Legends: Z-A has ignited immense excitement across the fandom. From the gradual reveal of fresh additions before the title's release, to players forming strong views on the entire lineup of new Megas, there's plenty for enthusiasts to anticipate.
With numerous of the Mega Evolutions showcasing distinctive appearances that emphasize their traits, one idea came to mind: How can link this with astrology? The following is inspired by a blend of vibes, sign stereotypes, and personal experience.
Aries – Mega Camerupt
Honestly, Houndoom was almost chosen for this fire sign, as both are the Mega Pokémon and zodiac symbol that evoke the most fear. However, a Mega Houndoom appears as always furious, which doesn't match the Aries vibe, renowned for being playful, cheerful, and impulsive. That's why the Ram much more similar to Mega Camerupt, which solely spews lava when angered. Remain on the friendly side of either and enjoy a strong ally; if you cross them, prepare to get burned.
The Bull – Mega Heracross
Much like a loyal Taurus, the reliable Heracross species, both in its regular and Super Form, has assisted many players in Legends: Z-A. Though trustworthy, each the Pokémon and a Taurus are also Fighting types, and – whether it's their companion or a strong opinion – will defend their position unwaveringly. What about Super Heracross that recalls most of my Taurus friends, though, is its unabashed passion for treats. Several past Pokédex entries mention their fondness for sweet tree sap and how it employs its appendage to collect it all, which is true Bull-sign vibe.
Gemini – Mega Medicham
Observe this absolute queen. You cannot tell me this Pokémon is not the life of every party, providing an endless fountain of gossip to anyone who wants to listen. Much like an enrapturing, sociable Gemini, it's very easy to imagine Super Medicham mesmerizing an whole Wild Zone with their tales. This Pokémon's Pokédex entry also mentions its ability to foresee an enemy’s next moves, which seems very similar to a socially-savvy Twins.
The Crab – Super Manectric
Cancer is widely regarded as the most sensitive sign of the astrological wheel, a passionate symbol famous for frequently becoming absorbed in their emotions. Per the Pokédex, Mega Evolution fills the Pokémon with a “huge amount of energy, but it's too much for Manectric to completely manage,” which seems a lot like a classic Cancer crash-out. It is also recognized for its ability to create a storm cloud over its very self – and if there’s one thing a Cancer is likely to do, it’s spoil their own parade.
The Lion – Mega Starmie
Oh, did you think I was planning to pick Pyroar for the king of the stars? Aside from the reality that it would be far too on the nose, Leo is obviously Mega Starmie, the diva whose gams just became an internet sensation for being extremely fabulous (or terrifying, based on your preference). Fans were captivated from the violet sea star, and that’s exactly the same vibe a Leo brings to the scene. This Pokémon is also rumored to be broadcasting radio waves from its center out into the cosmos, and it’s typical of a Lion to be putting on a performance, even if for aliens.
The Maiden – Super Victreebel
The always-ready and constantly-worried Maiden is perfectly represented in Mega Victreebel, the Mega with constant acid reflux. The zodiac symbol known for being endearingly judgmental is strongly reflected throughout this Pokémon’s entire evolutionary chain, from a always shocked face like a Virgo when you inform them you don’t have a retirement plan, to its inverted visage that’s similar to the symbol a Maiden sends to the group chat when all says they want to “go with the flow” rather than making a plan.
The Scales – Super Audino
Observe this gentle, empathetic being, who employs the feelers on its auditory organs to tell how others are feeling by their pulse. Always compassionate – sometimes to a detriment – and trying to keep the harmony, there are many Libras who would probably appreciate Mega Audino’s skills. Though, to be frank, it would probably just cause them to stress more about everyone else.
The Scorpion – Super Banette
Banette is a Pokémon with a surprisingly sad origin: Discarded as a toy, it gained sentient through sheer hatred and swore revenge on its former owner. According to the Pokédex, Mega Evolution, “increases its vindictiveness.” That sounds precisely like several conversations I’ve had with my scary Scorpion friends. A Scorpion adores karma and comeuppance, making them the perfect pair with Mega Banette.
Sagittarius – Mega Hawlucha
Both Mega Hawlucha and Sagittarians are constantly staging a performance. Being a Archer personally, the amount of times I’ve called myself some variation of a “playful little entertainer” is innumerable. The most flamboyant and most obnoxious Mega Evolution, its Pokédex entry even notes how it “flexes to display its power.” I would do the very same thing if I had some kind of Super Form, making Mega Hawlucha the most apt Archer match I can imagine.
The Goat – Mega Absol
Were you aware that a Super Absol has the ability to predict calamities in advance? That exudes the identical vibe as a Goat, who tends to consistently believe they’re right. Interestingly, much like a visionary Mega Absol, they often are. It’s also the absolute first Mega Evolution that players encounter in Legends: Z-A – typical of a Capricorn to get in on the beginning of the Super Form craze.
Aquarius – Super Chandelure
Detached element Aquarius is possibly the non-fire placement that is closest to a fire sign – its counterpart is the Lion, and there are numerous memes about Sagittarius and Water Bearer being chaotic partners in crime. Super Chandelure's dual Ghost/Fire typing fits perfectly with this, and the Mega’s general daunting presence is also very Aquarius. If you weren’t already convinced, the Mega’s description says it “absorbs negative energy and converts it into power.” If that fails to perfectly {encaps
